A friend and I ate at Helen's today. The food was excellent and the service was even better. We were served by "Reba". She was so upbeat and cheerful, it really enhanced our positive experience. I hope her employers value her. She is a gem. I would definitely recommend this place.
Food was very good. Served quickly by friendly staff. Definitely will return soon. Pies are the best I've ever had.
My pot roast sandwich was delicious. Was to full to eat dessert there but brought home a slice of blueberry pie. The pie was loaded with blueberries. They are known for the pie and I can see why-it was awesome.
Great comfort food. Loved It! My husband had hot beef sandwich, wow, big chunks of pot roast and tasted wonderful. I had haddock, so good too. Nice flaky and fresh. Large selection of meals. Home atmosphere with a rocking chair. Dessert can't be beat either. Large selection of pies. If in Ellsworth again we will definitely go there.
Helen's is an iconic eatery in Ellsworth. They serve good comfort food and have excellent desserts. The prices are reasonable for a sit down establishment, the ambiance is pleasant and comfortable. It's serves the local area as well as tourists. The staff is very nice, very efficient. There is adequate parking and it's accessible, though from a fairly busy road. I would recommend Helen's to visitors and locals alike.
