Very good simple food and menu good variety. Good service. Had very good turkey dinner with all the fixings. Excellent ginger bread and good bakery.

Great service! Marla's the best!

I had baby shrimp, mashed red potatoes w/gravy, and a caesar salad. My husband also had the shrimp with onion rings and a house salad. Our kids all ordered pancakes and bacon. Everyone enjoyed their meals and are every bite (shocking for all three kids to eat the full meal). The dinner rolls were very good also. Didn't have room for dessert but in the display case at the entrance, it all looked delicious. Reasonable prices and good meal.

To start with we had an absolutely wonderful server!! Amanda G, was awesome very friendly and professional, seriously...... inside joke there.... She was super busy but we didn't have to wait at all during any time of our meal. I ordered the Meatloaf Mountain and it is precisely that, it was also yummy and very filling. My wife ordered the Chicken Quesadia it was also yummy. The desert we split was the Lemon Blueberry cake, it was too big to finish but it tasted great and I'm certain will taste good tomorrow as well. The bakery display case was filled with lots of tasty looking treats but much as we wanted to get more we didn't.

Overall very glad we stopped there for dinner. this was our first time to this restaurant chain.

I ate dinner here the other night, the first time in about 5 years. I could not believe what a ripoff it was and how lackluster the food was. I ordered the “scallop basket,” an incredibly deceiving dish that consisted of SIX scallops on a dinner plate for $17.49. Not only was I paying nearly $3 per individual scallop, they were the lousiest scallops I’ve ever had. Maine is revered for its seafood, and after having sampled delicious examples of such from several other local establishments, it was clear to see that these scallops were not fresh Maine catch. I would be willing to give Governor’s another chance ONLY for dessert, but I can’t imagine that chance will be any time soon. Very disappointed.

Highly recommend!

We just got back from Colorado and we searched everywhere for lobster rolls. Then I remembered seeing that Governor's had a great review last time we were here, so we stopped by.

The large lobster roll was amazing, the bread was toasted to perfection and their homemade chips were delicious. Everything was so good we had to go back again the next day (yesterday). I'm hoping we can get over there again today. We are only in Harrington until Sunday but it's worth the drive to Ellsworth (40 miles) to get the roll.
