I deposited cash at the ATM at the bank itself on Saturday and wrote my rent check that same day and gave it to my landlord. My account was perfectly balanced. Land lord cashed check on Monday but on deposits over $100 the bank doesn't process until the end of the next business day. Because of this overlap, my rent overdrafted and the gas I purchased also overdrafted (even though w/out the rent check I would have had the money to cover it pre-deposit). I called and spoke with the manager immediately to find out why. He was rude and kept saying that the deposit doesn't process until the end of the day, even if its cash. It was my fault for writing a check I didn't have funds for (even though they were holding my cash when I wrote it and when it came in). I was dinged with $70 overdraft fees (this happened 2 months ago in a similar situation but I let it blow over even after talking with some one). I'm changing banks, TD Bank doesn't live up to its advertised promises and treats its clients like a nuisance. I received no sense of care or empathy, to the manager I was wrong for expecting my money to be processed in a timely fashion, and I was just another brick in the wall. With Christmas in 2 weeks and 4 children to finish shopping for, living paycheck to paycheck they still didn't care. I highly recommend taking your business elsewhere, where people who make the bank matter.
